There are two methods of using the DUO mobile app to authenticate; Push notifications and Duo Mobile Passcodes.
Push Notifications (most common)
- Push Notifications are usually the default method for authentication. When selecting "Duo Push" a push notification will be sent to your Duo app of the associated phone number.
- Once you received the notification open the app and you will be prompted with this page that pops up. On your device you will need to input the 3-digit code that appears on the computer into your computer to complete the request.
- Note: These requests time out after about a minute, but you can select the "try again" button to push a fresh request.

Duo Mobile Passcode
- You may select the Duo Mobile Passcode option to input a passcode directly from the Duo mobile app. Selecting this option will ask for a 6-digit passcode from the app.
- On the Duo mobile app you'll see "Passcode" underneath your Colorado State University account. Press "Show" to the right of the privatized passcode to reveal the digits.
- Input this 6-digit code revealed by the app into the Duo prompt on your computer. These passcodes do change regularly so they will change between uses.
